Photos and guest saves
Saved trucks and guide stops stay in your browser's local storage until you remove them or clear browser data. When accounts are enabled, signing in can synchronize saves to your account.
For listings without supplied photos, our server may request current photos from Google Maps. Google receives the place identifier and our server request; your location and account details are not sent with photo requests. Google photo content is delivered without persistent image or photo-name caching. Contributor and source-photo links remain beside Google images. Following them takes you to Google or the contributor's site, under their privacy policies.
Google content follows the Google Privacy Policy. See our terms for photo use and attribution.
Rooster Roams is a directory: a list of Maui food trucks with hours, locations, and what to order. It isn't a delivery app, and it doesn't ask you to create an account, log in, or hand over any personal information to browse it. Accounts are optional and used for saved trucks, local comments, and owner/admin workflows. The location and Ask Rooster features are explained below.
What this site doesn't do
- No account required to browse the directory.
- No cookies used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
- No sale of your personal data or advertising profiles.
Accounts
If you create an account, the site stores your email address, password authentication record, public comment name, saved trucks, comments, and any photos you submit with comments. When you give display permission, a comment photo can appear publicly with your comment as soon as you submit it. Rooster Roams administrators can review and remove submitted comments and photos afterward. You can also delete your own comment and its photos from your account.
Location
Tapping “Near Me” on the truck list asks your browser for your location, so trucks can be sorted by distance. It's never requested automatically — only that tap triggers the browser's own permission prompt, and you can say no.
Your coordinates are sent to this site's server for that one request, used to sort the list, and not written to a database or any log beyond the routine server logs described below. They aren't shared with a third party. “Near Me” stays on for that browser tab — tap it again to turn it off, or it clears when you close the tab.
What this site does do
Your browser fetches the pages you visit, the same as any website. The hosting provider may keep basic server logs (like which pages were requested and when) for security and reliability — standard practice, not something specific to this site.
Ask Rooster can record question categories, town and cuisine filters, whether it found an answer, response time, truck-link clicks and feedback. These records are not tied to your account or a tracking cookie. They are removed on a daily cleanup schedule after 90 days. You can turn collection off under Privacy & feedback choices before asking. We also honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals when provided by your browser.
Short question samples are saved only if you check the optional sharing box. We suppress sensitive topics and try to remove contact details, but automatic filtering is imperfect: please leave personal information out. Samples are limited to 240 characters, visible only to our administrators, and removed on a daily schedule after 30 days. We do not save full chat transcripts in this analytics system. Changing your choice applies to new questions.
Answering with AI may send your question and recent public search filters to our AI providers even when analytics is off. Chat history stays in the current page and is cleared when you start over or leave. Security rate limits use hashed network identifiers separately from these analytics. Hosting and provider logging follows their own policies.
Leaving this site
“Get directions,” a truck's phone number, or a truck's own website link will take you somewhere else — Google Maps, your phone's dialer, or a business's own site. Once you're there, their privacy practices apply, not this one.
Changes
If what this site collects ever changes — analytics, ads, a review or contact form — this page gets updated first, in plain language, before that change goes live.
